The "special lamps" were found in archaeological excavations made in Istanbul at various times and in various places.
 
In the Byzantine period, lamps and geometric motifs are frequently encountered in lamps, which were accepted as the light of God, presented as sacrifices to the temples and gained qualifications as sacred objects. Some of these are written on the tops of some of them.
 
The Temenni Kandil in the Istanbul Collection is inspired by the Byzantine lamps.
 
Temenni Kandil is made of purple glass, all relief designs on the work are decorated with handwork and 24 carat gold gilding. The production of Kandil is limited to 1999 pieces.
